Infusion Synergy

For this project, I partnered with an interior designer to envision a dynamic, future-focused workspace for OpenAI in Washington, D.C., by integrating the values and innovative goals of the company with the unique architectural and cultural essence of the Blake Building.

Mood Board

Objective:

To create an workplace balance between the imperfections of humanity & the perfection of technology for the future workplace of 2040.

This will be achieved by connecting spaces with fluid circulation paths and curvilinear shapes. Bright high-tech features and electrifying colors will be incorporated on the lower level to promote inspiration and motivation, while smoothly transitioning into more natural and blurred tones on the upper level to promote productivity and comfort.

Design Features

In this project, we utilized lighting, water effects, and curved forms as integrated wayfinding elements to intuitively guide users through the space.

Soft curves encourage natural movement, dynamic lighting highlights key paths and zones, and the presence of water features creates visual cues that support orientation while enhancing the overall atmosphere.

Reception Desk

This Reception Desk created in SolidWorks has organic volumes and curves that reflect the organic and inclusive design concept.

The custom reception desk is designed with flowing, organic forms and curves that align with the project’s nature-inspired aesthetic.

This includes both ADA-compliant counter height and standing height levels, ensuring accessibility and comfort for all users.

The right side of the desk is open, providing an inviting space, while the left side is solid to offer storage and seating. An existing architectural column is seamlessly incorporated into the design, blending the desk with the surrounding architecture; this integration creates a cohesive, unified look that merges the workspace and its elements, enhancing the overall fluidity and harmony of the environment.

Boardroom Table

This table was created in SolidWorks and designed to reflect an organic, nature-inspired aesthetic while incorporating functionality and inclusivity.

By incorporating both ADA-compliant counter height, bar height seating, and bench seating along the inside of the table - ensuring accessibility for all users, supporting a diverse and inclusive environment.

The unique shape and tiered seating maximizes visibility, fostering better engagement and participation during presentations and meetings. This design choice not only aligns with the project's focus on inclusivity and human-centered design but also enhances the visual and interactive experience for all attendees.

The final design embraces the themes of organic, inclusive, and humanized spaces to foster connection, well-being, and productivity. Through careful use of color, layout, and design elements, the space reflects OpenAI’s mission of harmonizing technology with human values, supporting innovation, community, and inclusivity in a workspace tailored for the future.
